American Pacific University (AmPac) was founded in 1994 in Honolulu, Hawaii. From its inception, it has offered distance education courses through the correspondence method. Now occupying a new campus in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, it has since 2007 incorporated two separate schools under its auspices – the School of Esoteric and Hypnotherapy Studies which is no longer accepting new students and the School of Transpersonal Technology. The former houses the original degree programs while the latter houses the new master’s degree programs.
AmPac’s current online program offering includes the Master’s degree in Transpersonal Psychology. Transpersonal Psychology is a branch of psychology that studies the whole human being including mind, body and spirit using the insights of both western and eastern teaching. The university is accredited by the Distance Education and Training Council (DETC) which is a recognized member of the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
The admissions process can be initiated by contacting American Pacific University enrollment advisor. All courses for the Master of Arts in Transpersonal Psychology are 3 credit hours. Tuition per credit is $485.00 but does not cover the cost of textbooks as well as other costs. The thesis/ practicum consist of 6 credit hours. Program tuition is paid in advance at least 5 days prior to start of classes. Information regarding financial aid options may be obtained from the enrollment advisor or the Bursar’s Office. Scholarships are offered to selected students.
