5 Best Places for Retirement

Retirement is something we all can look forward to. Personally I believe some of the best places to retire in popular circles just don't appeal to me. Arizona, Florida, all the high cost of living places that are warm here in the United States. I'm an international traveler and a firm believer in International Retirements.

Here's my top 5 best places to retire based on a number of factors including cost of living, climate, and access to quality health care and neccesary services such as communications etc. I realize I'm biased as I speak Spanish and love tropical climates. So here we go my top 5 best places to retire.

1 Mexico

Mexico is an expat retiree's haven. With millions of Americans heading into retirement age Mexico is an ideal location. There are a number of amazingly gorgeous and popular locations throughout Mexico that American's call home including Mazatlan and Lake Chapala. With a low cost of living, affordable healtch care, easy access to medication, and it's quick access to the US border either by driving, or by flying Mexico is easily my top spot for retirement for Americans.

2 Costa Rica

Costa Rica is a gorgeous country. Even though Costa Rica has one of the highest standards of living in the America's and the cost of goods and services is relatively low. Access to American trained doctors is a bit on the pricey side as is medicine but it is still much cheaper than in the United States or Canada. It's amazing climate makes this my second rated retirement destination in the world.

3 Panama

Panama is a very modern and advanced society, it also has one of the highest standards of living in Latin America. However the cost of goods are very low, and access to affordable American trained doctors, and medicines is very affordable. The climate is very decent , and the real positive is cheap real estate bargains.

4 Ecuador

Ecuador is probably one of the top 2 or 3 cheapest places in the world to live. The climate is about perfect, and the cost of living is the best in all of Latin America. It's a behind the times society, and medical care, and pharmaceuticals likewise are a bit quaint but the dollar goes so far that you can retire like a king here. That's why it makes my top 5 places to retire in the world. You can live like a king on a small amount per month which makes it one of the top emerging places to retire in the world.

5 Nicaragua

Don't tell anyone about retiring in Nicaragua. Located in the heart of Central America, Nicaragua is another gorgeous country filled amazing lakes, towering volcanoes, warm and friendly people and legendary culture. Roughly 6500 Americans call Nicaragua home. It's climate is nearly ideal, and healthcare is fairly affordable in comparison to the other four countries on this list.
