Bowling Green State University Online

Bowling Green State University (BGSU) was established in 1910 as an institution that specifically provided training for those intending to have careers in teaching.  It is considered the 14th in ranking in terms of being the largest instructor-producing school.  Its main campus is located in Bowling Green, OH. U.S. News and World Report has recognized Bowling Green State University’s excellence through its commendable ranking in its 2009 List of America’s Best Colleges. 


In addition to its traditional on-campus classes, Bowling Green State University offers full degree online programs allowing students all over the world to complete a bachelor’s or master’s degree as well as a certificate without the need to physically go to the campus.  The online learning environment not only provides convenience but also high academic standards and interaction with fellow students and faculty members.  BGSU is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.


Offered online programs include Bachelor’s degree completion courses in Advanced Technological Education, Quality Systems, Liberal Studies and Nursing; and Graduate programs in Teaching Biology, English, Education, Family and Consumer Sciences as well as Technology Management.  Some of the certificate courses are in the fields of Autism Spectrum Disorder, Computer Technology and Women’s Studies, among many.  Programs categorized as blended would require students to put in the required campus time.


Current information about tuition and fees can be obtained from the university’s Office of the Bursar.  The Office of Financial Aid on the other hand, provides information regarding the different loans, grants and scholarships available to students to help them fund their college education.  Undergraduate programs cost about $ 301.00 per credit hour for Ohio residents while non-Ohio residents pay $ 311.00 per credit hour.  Ohio and non-Ohio residents pay $ 355.00 or $ 365.00 per credit hour, respectively for graduate programs.  Admissions information can be obtained from Bowling Green State University’s Office of Admissions.
