California University of Pennsylvania, better known as Cal U, is a public university located in California, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1852, Cal U is a member of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education and is accredited by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education, and various program-based agencies.
Today, after more than 150 years in the business of providing education, Cal U remains committed to its mission “to build the character and careers of students” through its committed faculty members, challenging programs and exceptional facilities.
Cal U is divided into three undergraduate colleges; namely, the Eberly College of Science and Technology; College of Education and Human Services; and the College of Liberal Arts. It also has a School of Graduate Studies and Research and an off-campus site in Southpointe Center.
Aside from its wide-range of traditional, campus-based Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs, Cal U also has a Global Online Program for busy working adults interested to pursue higher education but too busy to attend regular day classes. Cal U’s Global Online makes available quality academic programs offered 100% on the Internet. These include Master of Arts, Master of Science, Master of Education, Master of Science in Nursing, and Master of Arts Teaching in a variety of majors plus Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies and Bachelor of Science in Wellness and Fitness.
Cost of tuition at Cal U for undergraduate, graduate and global online students varies depending on the specific degree program chosen and whether or not the student is a resident of Pennsylvania. Financial aid is extended in the form of loans, grants, scholarships and work-study programs.
