RETS College officially changed its name to Fortis College April 1, 2010. According to its director of administration and compliance, Terry Farris, however, “The only modification is a name change.” Everything else remains the same. Now known as Fortis College, the privately owned, for-profit institution remains committed to its original goal of providing in-demand career training for those seeking entry-level positions in a variety of professions. Currently, the college has almost 2,000 students enrolled in its main campus in Centerville, Ohio and in its online component based in Florida.
Fortis College offers associates degrees and certificate programs in various fields of study that include Nursing, Medical Technology, Dentistry, Healthcare, Business and Professional Services, Information Technology, Beauty and Wellness, and Skilled Trades. Its online campus, known as Fortis Online, which is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC), provides working students with fast-growing programs that allow them to take up courses despite their busy schedule.
Online degree programs offered by Fortis College include Associate of Applied Business degrees in Hospitality Management; Internet Marketing; Business Management; Business Management-Accounting; Business Management-Human Resources; and Associate of Applied Science degrees in Medical Billing and Coding; Criminal Justice/Homeland Security; Digital Graphic Design; Entrepreneurship; and Medical Administrative Assistant. In addition to the degree programs, a variety of certificate courses are also available online.
Tuition costs and expenses for books and course materials vary according to the degree program chosen. Prospective students are thus encouraged to get in touch with the Fortis College financial aid office to get a specific breakdown of annual costs.
Financial aid is extended to qualified students in the form of Federal loans and grants.
