Having all the conveniences you can afford is always a good thing, but come billing time, things can get quite hectic. It is not uncommon for the average working person to have so many bills that they tend to pile up and become quite unmanageable. While this might have become a habit for so many people, allowing bills to go unpaid past their due date is never a good idea. Aside from the fact that you will most likely be charged fees for late payments, you will also have red flags all over your credit record. So how do you manage your bills in order to avoid getting behind on them?
The first thing that you need to do is to get organized. There is no way around it – you have to sit down and gather ALL your bills. Once you have everything on hand, check the due dates one by one. Most of the time, bills have a regular due date. What you should then do is to mark all the due dates on your calendar. Whatever calendar you choose, the important thing is that you have all your due dates there. You may opt to manually mark the dates on a wall calendar, or you can use your mobile phone calendar, or you may even use your computer calendar.
You may also opt for automatic bill payment. This is a service that is offered by many banks. All you need to do is enroll your bills at your bank, and every due date, the amount will be debited from your account. What you need to remember is to have enough funds in the account at all times.
