Loyola University New Orleans, is one of the 28 Jesuit colleges and universities in the United States. Despite its Jesuit roots it is open to students of all faith. The University is currently ranked 2nd by the U.S. News & World Report in its 2009 edition of America’s Best Colleges 2009 in the "Geat School, Great Prices" category and is among the top 10 Southern region schools. It is also accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and the National League for Nursing.
Loyola University New Orleans' Department of Nursing has an Off-Campus Learning program, which offers a Master Of Science In Nursing (MSN) program as a fully online course. They also offer an RN to MSN bridge program, called BLEND, for nurses with non-nursing bachelor's degree.
Basic admission requirements to the MSN program is as follows:
- BSN degree from an accredited school
- Current and unrestricted RN license in practice in the United States
- Proof of liability coverage at a minimum of $1,000,000
- Minimum CGPA of 2.8
- 3 semester credit hours in Statistics
- Application fee of $40
Additional requirements are needed for applicants of the online BLEND program.
Tuition for the online MSN program is $703 per credit hour. FOr the online BLEND program tuition is $434 per credit hour, which includes 6 credit hours from the program and an additional 36 credits from the MSN program (MSN rates to be followed for that).
