Marist College

The main campus of Marist College is located at 3399 North Road, Poughkeepsie, New York. It was founded in 1929 as a training ground for future Marist Brothers but stands today as a progressive college of the arts and sciences following the traditions of notable institutions which started out as seminaries and developed into independent higher learning academies.

Marist College occupies a 180-acre campus overlooking the Hudson River. Poughkeepsie is an interesting site being the regional center of the arts, higher education, transportation, government, entertainment, healthcare and business. The main campus houses 49 buildings and 37 student housing facilities.

Over 4,200 traditional undergraduates, 1,100 adult continuing education students and 1,000 graduate students comprise the college’s diverse student body. About 3,000 students are presently availing of campus housing facilities. With 218 full-time and 344 adjunct faculty members, the student/faculty ratio is 15:1.

Full-time undergraduates pay an annual tuition of $ 26,105.00 while part-time undergraduates pay $ 610.00 per credit hour. Graduate students are charged $ 695.00 per credit. Room and board plans vary but a typical plan costs $ 12,000.00 annually.

Master’s degree programs offered in the main campus include MA in Communication, Master of Arts: Professional Teaching Certification, MA in Mental Health Counseling, MA in School Psychology, Master of Education, MBA-Master of Business Administration, Master of Public Administration, MPA for Law Enforcement Personnel, MS in Information Systems and MS in Software Development. Advanced Certificate Programs are offered in Finance, Information Systems, Marketing, Production Management and School Psychology.
