502 Pounds (228 Kilos) of Cocaine Seized in US Virgin Islands Traffic Stop

Federal authorities from the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement agencies and the Department of Homeland Security seized 502 pounds of cocaine (228 kilos) following a routine traffic stop on the island of St. Croix. Local police within Christiansted stopped driver Miguel Pascual, a Dominican from Puerto Rico, during the traffic stop. Pascual's vehicle was searched by police who discovered seven large bags full of cocaine, worth an estimated street value of $6 million dollars.

Pascual was arrested following Sunday's incident. It is uncertain if he has retained a lawyer.
