Alisa Maier Returned After Missing for 24 Hours

Alisa Maier returned after missing for 24 hours.  The four year old little girl was kidnapped from her front yard while playing with her 6 year old brother on Monday, July 5, 2010 in Missouri.  Maier's brother reported that a man pulled up to the residence and demanded Maier get into the vehicle.

After a frantic community search and outpouring of support from across the nation, Maier was found 80 miles from her home just before 10 p.m. on Tuesday, July 6, 2010.  A passerby noticed a "little boy" wandering in front of a Fenton carwash just before 10 p.m. on Tuesday evening and called 911 to report the incident.  Police confirmed Maier's identity upon responding and are still searching for her abductor. Police are searching for a dark colored sedan missing wheel covers and with a loud muffler the abductor was driving at the time of the crime.  The suspect is believed to be a white male in his late teens or early twenties.   Witnesses at the carwash report the driver of the car was a man in his early thirties with darker skin.

Maier was apparently unharmed.
