Sir Anthony Hopkins is reportedly in talks for the role of Alfred Hitchcock in an upcoming film. Reports from Collider.com indicate that the Oscar winning 73 year old actor has been tapped by Ivan Rietman's Montecito Pictures for the lead of the film version of Stephen Rebello's classic Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho. The book was published in 1990 and includes a fascinating glimpse into the development, screenwriting, cast, filming, editing, scoring, and promotion of Hitchcock's thriller Psycho.
This is the second round of negotiations for Hopkins. The project was reportedly previously shelved with Director Ryan Murphy. Initial negotiations included talks of Helen Mirren cast as Hopkins' costar.
