Authorities Probe Death of That 70s Show's Lisa Robin Kelly's Death

The L.A. County Coroner and the L.A. County Sheriff's offices have amped their efforts to determine the cause of Lisa Robin Kelly's untimely death at the age of 43. The cause of her death, the case investigating it, and the media reports surrounding it are full of conflicting information and roiled with "mystery." Some media reports suggest she passed in her sleep early on Thursday, April 15, 2013 with others suggesting she died on Wednesday, August 14, 2013. And media agencies are not the only sources offering conflicting reports. Both the Sheriff's and Coroner's offices have determined that her passing is "suspicious" due to the "mysterious" lapse in reporting her death as well as the initial reports in terms of the cause of her death. Kelly began treatment at a rehabilitation facility on Monday, July 19, 2013. Just days later, a doctor at the rehab facility pronounced her dead at 8:07 a.m. on August 15. Yet, the doctor failed to report the death to the coroner's office until around 12:00 noon. Then the doctor stated her death was due to an "embolism" which, per the coroner, only an autopsy could prove.

In the meantime, toxicology reports have been performed on Kelly's body to see if the detoxification drugs administered at the facility influenced or caused her death. An autopsy was also performed but the report will not be available for a minimum of eight to ten weeks. And, most importantly, authorities have placed a security hold on Kelly's case as they gather more information and continue their investigation.
