"Barefoot Bandit" Colton Harris Moore Arrested

"Barefoot Bandit" Colton Harris-Moore arrested in the Bahamas on July 11, 2010.  The serial burglar who escaped from a halfway house for young offenders claimed his spot in notriety with his trademark, serial, barefooted burglaries.  The troubled 19 year old has gained over 20,000 FaceBook fans since he went on the run in April 2008 by departing from Camano Island, Washington.  Harris-Moore was believed to have survived by running in the woods, stealing from empty stores and vacation homes, hijacking boats and small aircraft.

Police believe that Harris-Moore had a pain filled childhood which led to his criminal history of breaking into homes and stealing food, money, and credit cards.  Often Harris-Moore left his trademark of barefoot tracks and animal charity donation requests on the scene of his burgularies.   In November 2008, officials believe that Harris-Moore hijacked a series of small planes to escape from Washington to Idaho and on to Indiana and then the Bahamas.  Harris-Moore crashed all of the stolen aircraft.

Despite Harris-Moore's cult like, folklore fans, no one is as happy as his mother following his arrest.  Pamela Kohler's attorney issued a statement to PEOPLE following the arrest.  The statement read: "I am very relieved that Colt is now safe and that no one was hurt during his capture. It has been over two and a half years since I have seen him, and I miss him terribly.  I hope that it will be possible for me to see him sometime soon."

The FBI offered a $10,000 dollar following a two year long crime spree across North America.  Officials believe Harris-Moore committed over 100 crimes in 8 states and one province in Canada.
