Ben Roethlisberger Accused of Sexual Assault, Not Arrested

Ben Roethlisberger, NFL quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers, was questioned by police regarding a woman's accusation of sexual assault but was not arrested. A woman claimed the incident occurred in the early hours of Friday morning at a restroom within the nightclub called "Capital City" in Milledgeville, Georgia. The alleged victim was treated by and released from a nearby hospital.

This is the second sexual assault Ben "Big Ben" Roethlisberger has been involved in. In 2009, Andrea McNulty accused the quarterback for a 2008 incident involving sexual assault in Reno, Nevada. The case never went to trial. McNulty's account of the "sexual assault" was very graphic though police question her credibility. Roethlisberger would like the case to be "thrown out" of court. He has denied the allegations. No criminal investigation resulted from the first sexual assault incident Roethlisberger was involved in.

Authorities are in the process of investigating the second woman's claim. They have questioned witnesses and also have questioned Roethlisberger. No formal charges have been brought against Roethlisberger.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigations is also assisting with the case.
