Gossip Girl's Blake Lively has been tapped as the new Carrie Bradshaw in third Sex In The City film titled Summer In The City. Hollywood executives are in talks to air the third installment of Candace Bushnell's best selling series. Bushnell's prequel book, entitled The Carrie Diaries documents the younger years of the famed protagonist Carrie Bradshaw and the second installment of the prequel books, titled Summer In The City, highlights Carrie's move from Connecticut to New York City at the age of 19.
Michael Patrick King, Sex In The City producer, has already issued a green light in terms of bringing the prequel to the big screen with a new cast. An insider scooped to Grazia magazine: "There are no plans to bring Sarah Jessica Parker and the other girls back together in the old format. The prequel is about breathing new life into the story and exploring Carrie's first few months in NYC and the beginning of her relationship with an older man."
