A Boulder, Colorado plumber used country music to scare a bear from an attic crawl space while checking on frozen pipes. The bear had chosen the Boulder Community Hospital's employee cottage to hibernate in. A plumber discovered the bear with a flashlight while thawing frozen pipes last week when he suddenly heard growling and saw the bear. State wildlife officials quickly responded to the location and used a portable radio to scare the bear out.
The workers piped country music into the space and the bear subsequently departed. Officials then repaired and replaced the cover to the crawl space to prevent any future furry guests from using the cottage.
