Considered by many to be in a lifetime ban Pete Rose, the Hall of Fame material Player, and ex-Manager of the Reds is possibly facing reinstatement from baseball commissioner Bud Selig.
According to ESPN Bud Selig is pondering a reinstatement.
"MLB commissioner Bud Selig appears to be "seriously considering" reinstatement for Pete Rose nearly 20 years after the hit king was banned from baseball for gambling on the sport, according to a report in the New York Daily News, but a former baseball chief thinks it's a moot point.
Hank Aaron's support for Rose's Hall of Fame inclusion, which he mentioned at this weekend's ceremonies in Cooperstown, N.Y., is a strong indication of Selig's possible action, the Daily News reported.
"I would like to see Pete in," Aaron said. "He belongs there." "
A reinstatement would not guarantee inclusion into MLB's Hall of Fame in fact Pete Rose would have a lot of hill climbing and winning over to accomplish that feat but it would enable Pete Rose to return to coaching, instructing, and participating in a sport that has so dominated his life.
