It's been twenty years in the making yet 66 year old veteran rocker David Bowie has hit the top of UK Charts with his 24th studio album, titled "Next Day." The album has been the fastest selling for 2013 (so far) and drove straight to the top spot on music charts full of Bowie's customary uniquely eclectic, baffling brilliance, and screaming electricity.
Latest reports show that the album sold 94,000 copies since its release on March 8, 2013. It outsold fierce competition from Justin Timberlake and Jon Bon Jovi and knocked them out of the top spot. Plus critics and fans all agree that "Next Day" is perhaps one of the best comeback albums of all time. This is the first album
the musician, singer/songwriter, record producer and actor has released since 2003's "Reality."
In addition to the album, a retrospective of his work, costumes, and contributions to music will be open to the public at London's V&A Museum beginning on March 23, 2013. The exhibition will provide viewers with "unprecedented access" to the very private yet incredibly flamboyant rocker and feature early photographs, assorted memorabilia, a number of costumes, and an all around celebration to pay tribute to four decades of Bowie's life and work.
