David Thompson to Usher Michael Jordan Into Hall of Fame

Michael Jordan has chosen Denver Nuggets legend David Thompson to usher him into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame, which shocked even Thompson, who is friends with Jordan. I would have only been more suprised if Jordan had chosen Doug Collins. I kind of half expected Jordan to have Phil Jackson introduce him but this works and I'm a huge fan of David Thompson and his life after basketball.

"Former North Carolina basketball great Michael Jordan will be inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Friday, and who better to present him than ... David Thompson.
Jordan chose Thompson, who led the Wolfpack to the 1974 national title, to usher the most famous Tar Heel into the hall, according to a Yahoo! Sports report.
Thompson: "I got a call from the Hall of Fame and they asked me if I was willing to be a presenter for someone. I said, 'Yeah.' I didn't know who it was. ... They said Michael Jordan. I was like, 'Wow.' He told them that he was a big fan of mine and I was the one that really inspired him. Being that there was so many North Carolina people he could've chose, I was honored. I was kind of surprised, and also was really flattered that he chose me over Coach [Dean] Smith." via Sporting News
