Dead Newborn Found at Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls in Johannesburg

The body of a dead newborn was found at the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls in Johannesburg, South Africa. Local officials are investigating the horrific incident following the hospitalization of the seventeen year old student believed to be the baby's mother. Authorities became alerted of the deceased newborn when the mother was hospitalized for excessive bleeding and brought the baby's body into the hospital within a bag.

The teen was believed to have given birth at the school and the cause of the infant's death is under investigation. Charges will not be filed until the investigation is closed and the case is forwarded to the Director for Public Prosecutions from reports at ABC News.

The dead baby incident follows the 2007 scandal within the $40 million dollar school founded by Winfrey involving former school matron Tiny Virginia Makopo's sexual abuse allegations involving nine young female students.
