It's been sixteen months since actress Demi Moore and her much younger husband Ashton Kutcher split yet now the 50 year old is (finally) ready to officially file for divorce. Though Ashton began the formal divorce proceedings in December 2012, Demi had been hopeful to resolve their differences beyond the courtroom. After waiting for months, a source close to Demi spilled that she has "had enough" of the ongoing dispute over the financial settlement involved in the divorce and has pulled the trigger on moving the end of the marriage forward. The source also revealed to the New York Post that Moore will likely file on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 and insisted that "Ashton has been very difficult during the talks - you could even say he has been hostile." Lawyers representing each party have attempted for months to resolve the remaining issues of the divorce and now it seems that the process has led to its final hurdle: costly litigation and a trial.
If you don't remember, the couple's six marriage hit the rocks upon a cheating scandal that made tabloid headlines when Kutcher's extramarital affair with a 22 year old secretary by the name of Sara Leal went public. Both Ashton and Demi insisted the split was mostly peaceful and issued statements regarding the end of their time together. Moore offered immediately following the split a statement which read: "As a woman, a mother and a wife there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life." Kutcher also offered a statement at the time which read: "I will forever cherish the time I spent with Demi. Marriage is one of the most difficult things in the world and unfortunately sometimes they fail."
