The ongoing drug fueled drama between Anger Management star Charlie Sheen and his third ex-wife Brooke Mueller just got raised a notch: the L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services has placed the pair's four year old twins, Bob & Max, in the care of Sheen's second ex-wife, Denise Richards. That's right, Richards will be raising the boys for the rest of the year!
Officials originally and temporarily placed the children with Richards in May 2013 following Mueller's drug overdose. Mueller went on an involuntary psychiatric
hold following the incident and the boys went to live with Richards. Now courts are demanding that they remain with Richards until Mueller can prove herself clean and sober as her home was deemed an "unsafe environment" for the children.
After the children were removed from the home, Mueller then entered her twentieth drug treatment and rehabilitation program for reported meth abuse. She has been ordered by the court to again attend rehab, as well as Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous. She also has been ordered to maintain a good relationship with her children, obey the orders of her doctors, and prove she can handle life without relapsing. If Mueller can comply with the demands of the court, they will revisit the issue of custody in 6 to 12 months.
In the meantime, the boys are thriving with Richards who has Charlie's full support in raising the boys. He offered to shoulder the financial burden of the task but Richards declined insisting she is "thrilled to take care of the twins" and "isn't doing it for the money."
Whew...would you do that for your ex???
