Mohammed al Modadi is the Denver "shoe bomber." Modadi allegedly was arrested by authorities at the Denver International Airport on Wednesday evening. The FBI and explosive teams were called to the airport when United Flight 633 arrived in Denver after departing from Washington, DC. Federal air marshals intervened when Modadi attempted to set his shoes on fire. Modadi claimed immunity and may be the 3rd secretary and vice counsel diplomat in the Qatari embassy out of Washington.
After air marshals restrained Modadi, just forty miles from landing, two jet fighters from Buckley Air Force Base ushered the flight to it's destination. The plane landed in a reportedly "remote" area of the airport, passengers were safely evacuated from the plan, and the suspect's identity was confirmed by the FBI.
