Dustin Hoffman's Cancer Treatment a Success

Seventy five year old Oscar winner Dustin Hoffman has undergone an unspecified cancer treatment with success. His publicist, Jodi Gottlieb, confirmed to multiple media agencies that the cancer was "detected early" and the procedure rendered the actor "surgically cured."

An official statement issued by Gottlieb on August 6, 2013 to PEOPLE read: "It [the cancer] was detected early and he has been surgically cured. Dustin is feeling great and is in good health." Seh furthered that future preventive treatments will be necessary to keep the cancer in remission per his doctor's orders.

The cancer's detection and treatment is not expected to interfere with the filming of Hoffman's upcoming appearances in two films. Hoffman is slated to perform in the film adaptation of Roald Dahl's Esio Trot and the movie Boys Choir later this year.
