Earth Hour 2010

Earth Hour is set to be celebrated on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at 8:30 p.m. The event started in Sydney Australia in March 2007 when over 2 million homes and businesses flicked their light switches and electronics to "off" to make a statement against climate change. The popularity of the event grew into a global movement that swept 35 countries and entered 50 million homes. Last year, in 2009, over 4,000 cities in 88 countries joined in the event, revered as one of the worlds largest global climate change trends. Landmarks like Sydney's Harbour Bridge, Toronto's CN Tower, San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge, and even Rome's Colosseum went black in support of the event.

The founding principal of earth hour is to summon people in any business and community worldwide to assist in the search for a sustainable future with responsibility and respect for the earth and its resources. Take that advantage of the hour of darkness Earth Hour to commemorate our planet.
