An earthquake prediction rattles nerves in California. An e-mail has been floating the waves of the internet predicting a massive earthquake will hit California and leave mass destruction in its wake. The chain e-mail states: "My buddy's wife works at the seismology dept. in L.A. and they called everyone in today and said get your kids out of school and stock up on water because there is going to be a major quake within 24 hours." The email was sent with a link to a reportedly "strange" website with inconclusive scientific evidence to prove the claim that a magnitude 5.0 through 6.5 quake will hit Southern California between April 13-17, 2010. The area was recently rattled with lower magnitude quakes, in the 4.2 through 4.6 magnitude range, as of yesterday, April 12, 2010, near Baja California and off of northern California's coast.
