Dame Elizabeth Rosemond Taylor, better known as Liz Taylor, has been admitted to Cedars Sinai Medical Center for congestive heart failure. The seventy eight year old actress' spokeswoman, Sally Morrison, released a statement on Friday regarding Taylor's deteriorating health. Morrison confirmed that the Oscar winning actress was diagnosed with the condition "several years ago" and is presently suffering from symptoms related to congestive heart failure.

Morrison also maintained that it is uncertain how long Taylor will remain hospitalized and has requested privacy as the medical staff determines the best course of treatment.

An outpouring of support has been tremendously appreciated from Taylor's family. Taylor is revered as one of the greatest actresses of Hollywood's golden age and listed as seventh on the American Film Institute's Female Legends list.
