Grammy-winning singer Faith Evans was arrested after being stopped at a drunken driving checkpoint in the Los Angeles area, TVGuide.com says.
The 37-year-old R&B singer was arrested Saturday night near Marina del Rey on suspicion of misdemeanor drunken driving, Officer Cleon Joseph of the LAPD said. He said Evans was held for a few hours and released on bail Sunday morning, and her car was impounded.
Evans is the widow of Notorious B.I.G. – rapper Christopher Wallace. She won a Grammy for the song "I'll Be Missing You" in 1998.
Evans spent 13 weeks in rehab in 2004 after being arrested in Atlanta and charged with possession of marijuana and cocaine.
A reality series “It’s All About Faith” chronicling Evan’s life with her husband and manager, Todd Russaw, and their four children is reportedly in production, and a new album “Something About Faith” is scheduled for release in October.
