Actress Farrah Fawcett dies at age 62
Farrah Fawcett, 62, has died after a three-year battle with anal cancer. Her spokesman, Paul Bloch, says Fawcett died Thursday morning in a Santa Monica hospital.
She was diagnosed with cancer in September of 2006. The news led to a reconciliation with her on-and-off boyfriend, Ryan O'Neal, 68, who is the father of their son Redmond, 24.
The actress went through chemotherapy and radiation treatments and was declared cancer-free in February 2007. Later that spring, she learned the cancer had returned. After growing tired of ineffective treatments in the U.S., Fawcett went to Germany in September 2007 seeking alternative cancer therapies but made no progress.
