Authorities from the FBI and LAPD launch an investigation after a suspicious white powder was discovered at the studio where Dancing With The Stars is filmed. Officials report an envelope containing the powder was found in an ABC mailroom and an inital screening determined the contents were not hazardous. A threatening letter accompanied the powder. Details of the letter have not been made public.
ABC issued a statement to E! News which said "Security and the Los Angeles Fire Department and Los Angeles Police Department were immediately notified. Measures were taken to secure the area and ensure the safety of personnel. Ultimately we were advised by the LAFD that the substance was determined to be talcum powder."
Laura Eimiller, an FBI spokeswoman, stated the envelope will be sent to a regional laboratory for more testing. Dancing With The Stars producers will up the ante on security as the show wraps its 10th season next week in a two night finale.
