General Motors announced a recall 4/14/09 due to risk of engine fires due to engine oil leaks. The GM recall is of 1.5 million mid-size cars with a 3.8 V6 liter engine. The problem can develop with hard braking as oil drops enter the exhaust manifold which could start a spark plug fire and spread to the engine. GM will replace the spark plug wires to prevent fires from starting. GM says that there are no known injuries that have occurred.
