Ted Williams, the formerly homeless "Golden Voiced" radio announcer has had a relapse and is entering rehab per reports from Dr. Phil's representatives. The viral internet sensation who gained instant fame last week admitted during the filming of Thursday's Dr. Phil show to drinking again. Williams taped two segments of the talk show over the weekend. The first aired yesterday with the second, including a reunion with Williams' family, aired today.
On Monday evening, Williams was detained in Hollywood for an altercation with his daughter, Janey. Janey insisted Williams was drinking again and told Gossip.cop: "consuming at least a bottle of Grey Goose a night, at least. That's not including the Coronas he orders, that's not including Budweisers he orders, that's not including the other alcohol, the wines. He drinks - heavily." Williams immediately denied the claim but later confessed that after two and half years of sobriety, he had slipped. A third taping with Dr. Phil included Williams' admittance of a relapse and will air tomorrow. Reps have confirmed that during an off camera chat, Dr. Phil convinced Williams to seek treatment via rehab for his alcohol addiction.
The relapse follows Williams landing a gig for MSNBC's "Lean Forward" campaign which began last week.
