Team Penske's Helio Castroneves has put his car on the pole postion for this year's 94th running of the Indianapolis 500 race. Castroneve sits alongside his Penske teammate, Will Power, who qualified in the second spot. Completing the front row is Dario Franchitti, driving for Target Chip Ganassi Racing. Castroneves averaged 227.970 miles per hour over the four lap qualifying distance, a speed that was unmatched by any other team in the field. The pole is Castroneves' fourth Indy 500 pole, an achievement reached by only three other drivers in the race's history.
