Hiromu Naruse, the man responsible for development of such cars as the Toyota Supra and the Lexus LFA, was killed in a highway crash of a Lexus LFA Nurburgring Edition near the famed racetrack in Germany. The Lexus LFA driven by Naruse crossed lanes and struck an oncoming BMW, severly injuring both occupants. Naruse was pronounced dead at the scene.
Hiromu Naruse was a legend among Japanese car fans and at 67 years old was still blindingly fast behind the wheel. Naruse had been in Germany for suspension development and tuning on the Lexus LFA Nurburgring Edition, a track-oriented version of the Lexus LFA supercar.
