Iranian Police Trying to Halt Protests by Mourners

It is being reported that the Iranian police is trying to break up the mourners who have gathered for a memorial at a cemetery in Tehran. The memorial is for the people who were killed during the post-election protests in Iran.

The police have reportedly stopped the Opposition leader Mir Hossein Mousavi who was trying to join the protests. Many people have gathered at the grave of Neda Agha-Soltan, the 27 year old woman whose death during the protests drew international attention. The video of her death was broadcast all over the internet which resulted in widespread protests against the Iranian government all over the world.

According to BBC, a witness said that Mosavi was immediately surrounded by anti-riot police when he arrived and taken to his car.
