Former President George W. Bush has officially joined the ranks of grandfatherhood! His daughter, Today Show correspondent Jenna Bush Hager gave birth to a daughter, named Margaret Laura "Mila," in New York City on Saturday, April 13, 2013. The birth was confirmed by an official statement issued by George W. himself with: "Laura and I are thrilled to announce the birth of our grandchild, Margaret Laura 'Mila' Hager... Mila, daughter of Jenna and Henry Hager, is named for her grandmothers. She was born last night, April 13, at 8:43 p.m. in New York City. We met our beautiful granddaughter today. Jenna and Mila are healthy. And our family is elated."
This is the first grandchild in the former Presidents' family. No word yet on if Mila and her parents will attend the grand opening of the George W. Bush Presidential Center on April 25, 2013. Perhaps she'll make the public opening on May 1 when the $250 million dollar institution on 25 acres at the Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas is officially ready for business.
