Jessica Alba’s solid professional relationship with Robert Rodriguez has led her to get a role in many of his movies.
She has starred in two of his films - the visually stunning graphic novel adaptation “Sin City” and “Grindhouse” spin-off “Machette” which releases next week. Alba is now in her third collaboration with the prolific filmmaker as Hollywood.com says that she's signed on for “Spy Kids 4.”
The film is a reboot of sorts and will focus on a new batch of Spy Kids as the stars of the original trilogy, Alex Vega and Daryl Sabara, have grown-up for the role. The new movie, which was titled “Spy Kids 4: Armageddon” and is now known as “Spy Kids 4: All The Time In The World,” will focus on a retired spy (Alba) who has been reactivated and will require the assistance of her two preteen stepchildren.
Alba’s character will have an investigative journalist husband and there will be a villain in the movie called the Timekeeper who wants to stop time.
The site says Vega, Sabra, and Antonio Banderas will return in some capacity for the fourquel, which will be shot in 3D for an August 19th, 2011 release.
