The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey have confirmed that one lane of the Lincoln Tunnel going North into Manhattan has been shut down following a motorcycle and bus automobile crash. The accident occurred at approximately 7:25 a.m. within the tunnel linking New Jersey and New York City. Initial reports indicate that the crash involved one motorcycle and three buses. Medics and emergency response teams arrived at the scene of the accident to assist nearly 30 injured people, including the motorcyclist who was transported to Bellevue Hospital.
Traffic going into New York City is expected to be delayed as the center tube of the Lincoln Tunnel has been shut down to clear the area. Two lanes of the Tunnel remain open though traffic delays have been reported.
Officials are investigating the cause of the accident
