Madieu Williams Wins Walter Payton Man of the Year Award at Super Bowl XLV

Medieu Williams of the Minnesota Vikings was the recipient of the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award during Super Bowl XLV. Williams was one of the three finalists for this years award, including LA Raiders' Nnamdi Asomugha and The Chicago Bears' Isreal Idonije.

Williams was unable to recieve the award during the Super Bowl ceremonies at Cowboys Stadium as he was visiting with U.S. military members in Iraq. Williams' work with the North Community YMCA, the United Way and Harvest Prep/Seed Academy, "Dieu's Crew" program, and $2 million dollar donation to the Madieu Williams Center for Global Health at the University of Maryland are amongst his community service contributions.

The Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award is given to players whose football excellence carries off the field and into community service.
