Canna Cola Marijuana Soda in Development by Clay Butler

A marijuana soda is in development by creator Clay Butler. The inventive commercial artist is planning on marketing Canna Cola, a soft-drink containing the active compound THC, to medical marijuana dispensaries.

Butler devised the "pot soda," with the backing of Diavolo Brands founded by Scott Riddell. The pair devised the line of 35 to 65 milligrams of THC per soda available in 5 flavors including: Canna Cola, Doc Weed, Sour Diesel, Grape Ape, and Orange Kush. Butler's business plan includes knocking out the "mom-ad-pop" pot sodas already available on the market in a fashion similar to "how Snapple or Coca-Cola or Minute Maid would make a marijuana beverage, if they ever choose to do it." Additionally, Butler has promised his "pot soda" will not have the heavy aftertaste that many alternative products leave behind.

The sodas will be available for the retail price of $10 to $15 dollars per 12 ounce bottle and will be launched in Colorado in February. Due to state laws and regulations, the product may not be sold to places beyond state lines.
