American actress Mariska Hargity of NBC's Law & Order has gotten a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The star is among the latest honors and extensive list of awards the forty nine year old daughter of Jayne Mansfield and Mickey Hargity has accomplished. Hargity's fourteen year (and still counting) commitment to playing Detective Olivia Benson on the hit NBC show led her to the accomplishment. Best of all, Hargity's star was placed next to her mother's star bestowed during the height of Jayne's career in 1956.
Actress Hillary Swank and Dick Wolf were with Hargity when she received the honor. Wolf offered: "I love you, you've done an incredible job. You are one of the icons of television, and certainly, I think female icon for millions of women not only her, but all around the world." Apparently Hargity is following in her iconic mother's footsteps. Jayne was (and still is) considered one of the first Blonde Bombshells to grace both Broadway and the silver screen.
