From ‘Doogie,’ Neil Patrick Harris is become a daddy.
The star from TV show “How I Met Your Mother” confirmed on Saturday through Twitter that he and his partner, David Burtka, were expecting not one, but two babies.
"So, get this: David and I are expecting twins this fall," Neil Tweeted. "We're super excited/nervous/thrilled. Hoping the press can respect our privacy..."
With the announcement of the news by Neil, photos of the actor and David surfaced showing the happy couple enjoying themselves on Saturday afternoon at Disney's California Adventure in Anaheim, Calif.
Adam Shankman from "So You Think You Can Dance," congratulated the couple on the news via Twitter, tweeting, "guess what babies are gonna learn how to dance and direct from their uncle Adam?"
In addition to planning for his upcoming fatherhood, summer 2010 has been a busy one for Neil. He directed the musical “Rent” at the Hollywood Bowl, earlier this month, which starred Vanessa Hudgens and Nicole Scherzinger.
Neil is also nomimated for three Emmys this month: one for Best Supporting Actor Comedy for his work on "HIMYM," a second for Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for "Glee" and a third for hosting last year's Tony Awards.
David, who is a fellow thespian (and cook), has had experience with twins in the past. He helped to raise twins from a relationship with a previous boyfriend, although he wasn't a primary parent to them.
