New information regarding Natalee Holloway's disappearance has been disclosed by Joran Van Der Sloot.
Natalee Holloway disappeared almost 5 years ago while vacationing in Aruba with friends. The then teenaged, petite, blond, college bound, high school student from Alabama was out drinking underage in May 2005 when she met Joran Van Der Sloot and his friends. Natalee's disappearance has haunted investigators, family, and friends. Authorities believe that Van Der Sloot is a primary suspect in Natalee's disappearance.
Van Der Sloot confessed two years ago to dumping Natalee's lifeless body into the sea. New reports obtained from Van Der Sloot's "reality star friend" recorded Van Der Sloot's newest confession: that Van Der Sloot disposed of Natalee's body in a marsh.
Prosecutors from Aruba claimed to have reopened the investigation into Natalee's disappearance after learning of the August 2009 confession from Van Der Sloot. The investigation led nowhere other than to discredit Van Der Slott. Prosecutors determined that "It became clear that this statement is held together by lies and fantasy." German newspapers reported Van Der Sloot's second confession and a justice department representative went on record with De Telegraaf to say that if Van Der Sloot was "telling the truth he would name the exact spot where Halloway's body is hidden."
Paulus Van Der Sloot, Joran's father, has been accused of "covering up for his son" regarding Natalee's disappearance. He recently and unexpectedly passed away on a tennis court just last week. Perhaps Paulus' death will shed some light on Natalee's disappearance.
