Plaxico Burress the former Steelers and Giants receiver is heading to jail to serve his 2 year sentence for discharging an illegal weapon in public. He struck a plea aggreement that will keep him from serving a mandatory sentence for the more serious gun charge and could end up walking away from prison after 18-22 months.
What is doubtful is that he will ever play high caliber NFL football again.
"Burress agreed to a plea deal last month and pleaded guilty to a lesser firearms charge. The charges stemmed from an incident late last fall, in which Burress accidentally shot himself in the thigh at a Manhattan nightclub with a gun that had not been licensed in New York.
He is expected to serve about 20 months with credit for good behavior, followed by two years of probation." via ESPN
