Prince William and Kate Middleton have revealed the guest list for their upcoming royal wedding on Friday, April 29, 2011. Over 1900 confirmed invitations were sent out to foreign dignitaries, religious leaders, Parliament members, and various celebrities requesting their presence at William and Kate's Westminster Abbey nuptials.
Amongst the guest list for what has been dubbed the "wedding of the century" are: Elton John, David and Victoria Beckham, Guy Ritchie, Joss Stone, Ian Thorpe, Rowan Atkinson, Mario Testino, Ben Fogel, Prince Albert of Monaco and his fiance Charlene Wittstock, Joe Allbritton, and many others. Royalty from Spain, Greece, Tonga, Swaziland, Denmark, Bahrain, Belgium, Morocco, Norway, Yugoslavia,, Abu Dhabi, The Netherlands, Malaysia, and Saudi Arabia are also expected to attend the Royal festivities. Additionally, Prince William invited his entire search and rescue unit to the wedding.
The Royal Wedding will be broadcast before a predicted 2 billion person global audience. Many public spaces throughout London will feature outdoor screens set up in parks and other areas as over one million people are expected to celebrate the wedding with street parties and other gatherings.
The event is slated to begin at 11:00 a.m. British Summer Time.
