Millions of headlines all read the same: "Robin Roberts Comes Out" but we knew it was only a matter of time before the Good Morning America anchorwoman Robin Roberts stepped out of the metaphoric closet. And it seems the entire world has something to say about her sexuality (which is essentially only business of her own...)
It seems that on Sunday, December 29, 2013 Roberts chose to express her gratitude for living 100 days beyond the bone marrow transplant which saved her life from myelodysplastic syndrome (or preleukemia) via a heartfelt Facebook post. It read: "At this moment I am at peace and filled with joy and gratitude. I am grateful to God, my doctors and nurses for my restored good health. I am grateful for my sister, Sally-Ann, for being my donor and giving me the gift of life. I am grateful for my entire family, my long time girlfriend, Amber, and friends as we prepare to celebrate a glorious new year together."
Roberts then went on to express her thanks and return the good thoughts sent to her during her battle against cancer plus urge everyone to feel a spirit of gratitude for all that they have as the year draws to a close.
Talk about a heavy post...now that's powerful stuff! Roberts has been with her partner, a massage therapist named Amber Laign, for over 10 years. So is it a big surprise that she's gay? And better yet, why the reaction from the crowd? Does it matter???
