Officials in Upstate New York have launched a missing person search for twenty year old Jenni-Lyn Watson. The Onondaga County Sheriff's Department leads the investigation into Watson's disappearance last Friday. Officials report Watson's cell phone was last used near a Woodard Industrial Park in Clay, New York.
Watson was last seen at Mercyhurst College in Pennsylvania, where she is a student. Watson was on her way home for Thanksgiving to a residence in Liverpool, New York. Friends and family reported to CBS affiliate WTVH that Watson maintained frequent contact with them and it was highly uncharacteristic of Watson to not frequently make her location known. Volunteers have assisted the search for Watson by creating webpages on Facebook, passing out flyers with her picture, and holding vigils.
Undersheriff Warren Darby issued a statement to WTVH stating: "At this point, it's missing person but we're looking at all aspects of what it could be and we want to see Jenni-Lyn home safely." Authorities have combed the areas surrounding Watson's home by land and by air.
Watson is described as a petite, amiable young woman. Watson has dirty blond hair, brown eyes, is approximately 5 foot 2 inches tall, and weighs 100 pounds.
