The Oconee County sheriff's department responded to a call in Bernwood Circle near Seneca, South Carolina for was was an apparent buglary. When Seneca Police Department officials arrived on the scene, they found twenty four year old Noah Smith naked, drugged, and with a rodent in his derriere.
Per details of the indident report, Smith was lying face down in the doorway of the burglarized home. The deputy roused Smith and Smith slapped the sheriff. The sheriff tased Smith to no effect. Smith went to the victim's bedroom and officials managed to restrain him in handcuffs. Smith retaliated by kicking. Deputies then deployed pepper spray on Smith, struck Smith with a police baton, and eventually caught Smith in a blanket in an attempt to stop him from biting. Shackles were placed on Smith's legs and his arms were "hog tied" when officers finally fully restrained him. An EMS crew was called to the scene and Smith was literally tied down to a stretcher.
Officers and investigators believe Smith was hallucinating on mushrooms at the time of his arrest on charges of resisting arrest, 1st and 3rd degree assault and battery charges, and indecent exposure. Smith was later transported to a local hospital where medical personal discovered a mouse tail hanging from Smith's backside. An X-ray later identified the rodent in Smith's rectum.
Smith had no recollection of the mouse or how it ended up inside of his body and was transferred to the Oconee County Detention Center.
