The much anticipated and delayed Spider-Man musical, “Spider-Man Turn Of The Dark,” is finaly making its debut. The adaptation by Julie Taymor of the web-slinging hero will begin preview performances on November 14th. It will open on December 21st at Foxwoods theater.
It was originally scheduled to open this February, with the cast including Evan Rachel Wood and Alan Cumming. But the complications with the notoriously expensive show pushed the project back and forced a change in casting. It will now star Jennifer Damiano as Mary Jane, while Patrick Page has replaced Cumming as the villainous Green Goblin. Rocker and actor Reeve Carney will play Peter Parker.
The superpowered musical will include musical performances from U2 members Bono and The Edge.
“Spider-Man Turn Off The Dark” will swing into theaters just in time for the release of Taymor's latest film “The Tempest” starring Helen Mirren, on December 10th. The movie is an adaptation of Shakespeare’s famous tale.
