Super Bowl XLV Fans Outraged Over Relocated Seats and Refunded Tickets

NFL officials have relocated seats and refunded tickets at the Cowboys Stadium, site of Super Bowl XLV, leaving many fans outraged. Three gates at the Cowboys Stadium are closed due to ice and safety concerns and many fans were angered while waiting in line several hours to pass through the limited number of gates due to security checks and the volume of the crowd. Many fans chanted "Jerry Jones sucks" while waiting in line per eyewitnesses.

The NFL has created temporary seating for fans after having to close down portions of the dome due to ice and snow within the Stadium. Six people were injured on Friday by falling ice from the roof of the Stadium and despite efforts to remove the ice, the NFL has stated "the safety of the fans comes first."

Over 1,250 seats were affected by the conditions at the Stadium. An official NFL statement maintained that fans who paid $600 dollars for seats would be accommodated [with] "similar or better seats." The NFL also stated: "fans who are not accommodated with seats inside the stadium will each receive a refund of triple the cost of the face value of the ticket. We regret the situation."
